About Incense Sticks
Incense sticks (agarbatti) are lit at the start of almost every puja, aarti and daily prayer at home. Ek Ishwar's incense sticks come in fragrances such as Shubh Saurabhya, Royal Ark, Whispers of Gulab and Prithvi, so you can keep one scent for daily worship and another for festivals and special occasions.
How many incense sticks should I light during puja?
Most households light one or two sticks at the start of puja or aarti. Some traditions light an odd number, such as three or five, for special occasions. Follow the practice of your family or temple.
What is the difference between incense sticks and dhoop sticks?
Incense sticks are rolled around a thin bamboo core, burn evenly and give a lighter fragrance. Dhoop sticks have no bamboo core, are denser and give a stronger, smokier fragrance in less time.
Where should I place incense sticks while they burn?
Use an incense holder on a heat-safe surface in front of your mandir, away from curtains and cloth, and let the ash fall onto the holder or a plate.
