Strength & Stability
Devi Shailputri is worshipped for steadiness, strength and a firm foundation in life.
Navratri Day 1

On Pratham Navratri, 11 October 2026, devotees worship Mata Shailputri, the daughter of the Himalayas and the first of the Nav Durga. This Navratri Shailputri puja is performed at Shree Adhisthatri Maya Devi Mandir in Haridwar, revered as the Haridwar Shakti Peeth and the presiding goddess of the city.
Temple Pandits chant the Maa Shailputri mantra, her beej mantra, 11,001 times with havan offerings, followed by Panchopchar Pujan, the five-fold worship with gandh, pushp, dhoop, deep and naivedya.
If you cannot travel to Haridwar, you can still begin Navratri at a Shakti Peeth. Your name and gotra are included in the sankalp and the puja is performed on your behalf.
